This holiday season, Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck are giving back.
The former couple visited the annual Thanksgiving Street Fair of homeless shelter The Midnight Mission in Los Angeles, where they volunteered and served free meals to the homeless population.
«They truly enjoy giving back to their community and cherishing quality time together as a family,» a source told PEOPLE of the outing. Affleck and Garner, both 52, attended the event with their three daughters, Violet Anne, 18, Seraphina Rose, 15, and Samuel, 12.
The non-profit group «hosts a celebration for thousands of individuals and families experiencing homelessness in Skid Row,» according to its website, and it features live entertainment and a holiday dinner every Thanksgiving.
Affleck and Garner, who separated in 2015 after ten years of marriage and divorced three years later, looked happy as they posed for an Instagram selfie with David Prentice, the organization’s CEO.
«We were honored to have Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner join us at The Midnight Mission for Thanksgiving today!» the shelter said as the description for the photo. Their generosity, friendliness, and commitment made our Skid Row neighborhood incredibly happy.
«Thank you for sharing smiles and offering food on this great day, Ben and Jennifer.
