Biles, together with her teammates Suni Lee, Jordan Chiles, Jade Carey, and Hezly Rivera, won gold in the women’s artistic gymnastics team final at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Paris with a score of 171.296. This was the team’s first gold since the previous year.

Before the championship match, Jonathan Owens had announced on Instagram that he was traveling to Paris to cheer on Biles from the stands at the Bercy Arena.
