Kate Hudson admitted she could smell Matthew McConaughey from a mile away
In a new episode of ‘Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen’, the actress denied ever making her costar use deodorant shooting the 2008 film.
Kate Hudson is highly familiar with Matthew McConaughey’s fragrance.
On a July 17 edition of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, the 45-year-old actress and singer addressed rumors about her former co-star’s body odor.
«Was that old urban legend true that you forced Matthew McConaughey to wear deodorant while filming Fool’s Gold?» asked presenter Andy Cohen while reading a fan-submitted question.
«No. «He doesn’t wear deodorant — and by the way, neither do I,» Hudson admitted. She did, however, reveal that she could smell the actor «from a mile [away],» and that «they got so close» while filming.
The story appears to have originated with the Oscar-winner himself, who, in a previous interview with Playboy, stated that Hudson
(with whom he also co-starred in the 2003 film How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days) would «always» urge him to use salt rock, which can help eradicate odors, that she would bring to set. He never complied.
But everything is OK because they are one in the same. «We’re naturals,» Hudson added, laughing. McConaughey is well-known for being anti-deodorant.
