Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard have discovered a clever way to get their kids to stop asking for a cellphone.

As a guest on the Monday, Sept. 23 episode of The View, the actress, 44, shared that her two daughters, Lincoln, 11, and Delta, 9, who she shares with her actor husband, 49, «do not have phones.»

«They have iPods they can use for music and stuff and I guess they can text with grandma at home because it’s on the WiFi.» she explained, before revealing how she and Shepard convinced their kids that «phones are a trick.»

«To be honest, the initial conversations we had with our kids were about how phones are a trick. We felt that was an interesting way to introduce it,» she began.

«Whenever my husband and I would pick up it ,we would go, ‘You know, this phone, it has all these tricks inside that make me want to come back to it.’»

With these conversations, Bell said, «They kind of developed a little bit of a suspicion about it, which was really helpful.»
