Less than two years after his brother Anthony’s death at age sixty-six, Madonna’s brother Christopher Ciccone passes away at the age of sixty-three
Less than a month has passed since the passing of Joan Clare Ciccone, Christopher’s and Madonna’s stepmother.
Christopher «Chris» Gerard Ciccone, Madonna’s younger brother, has passed away. He was sixty-three.
Christopher’s spokesperson told PEOPLE that he passed away on Friday, October 4, from cancer. According to a statement from the representative, he passed away «peacefully» with his husband Ray Thacker by his side.
Thacker, his brother Martin, Madonna, Paula, Melanie, Jennifer, and Mario, as well as his father Silvio Ciccone, survive Christopher.Christopher’s passing occurs soon after his stepmother, Joan Gustafson Ciccone, passed away in September at the age of 81 from cancer. Anthony, his oldest brother, passed away last year at the age of 66 from throat cancer and respiratory failure.
Madonna Louise Ciccone, his mother, passed away from breast cancer in 1963, not long after he was born.
Christopher grew up in Michigan, just like his siblings. Before relocating to New York City to work in a variety of roles with the 66-year-old Madonna in her nascent musical career, he attended college to study dance.
In the early years of his singing sibling’s career, he collaborated with her, helping out as a backup dancer in some of her early music videos, such as «Everybody» and «Lucky Star.»The late creative was also the production design lead for The Girlie Show in 1993 and the art director of the singer’s famous 1990 Blond Ambition World Tour.
