Something strange happened on American Idol when 19-year-old Colby Swift took the stage.
Colby had never taken a voice lesson or performed in front of a large audience. He said he had never left Texas, where he had been born and nurtured. Even yet, the judges were blown away when he sang «Before the Next Teardrop Falls» by Freddy Fender.
Luke Bryan, one of the Idol judges, believed he knew the young country artist attempting to make it big. «Well, I don’t think any 19-year-old kid has ever come in here who was more like me,» he explained.
Bryan asked Colby a curious inquiry as he gazed at his worn-out shoes. «What size shoe do you wear?» he inquired of Colby.

The crowd couldn’t believe it when Byran removed his boots and handed them over to the star-struck young cowboy.
