Miranda Lambert’s passion for animal rescue work with her mother
Through the MuttNation Foundation, the country music artist and her mother, Beverly June Lambert, collaborate to support horses and pets.
Miranda Lambert enjoys putting aside «the glamor» of her fame to focus on her second «passion»: saving animals.
At Boot Barn Presents: VOICELESS, a broadcast special, fashion show, and red carpet celebrity charity event held in Nashville on Monday, November 18, the 41-year-old country music artist talked about the joy she gets from her work
as a co-founder of the animal rescue organization MuttNation Foundation with her mother, Beverly June Lambert.»It’s cool to be able to share passion with your mom, and she’s been my biggest fan and biggest supporter,» Miranda told PEOPLE.
On a human level, however, [MuttNation] is something that unites us. It’s no longer glitzy or glamorous. It all comes down to a love for preserving animals and improving the planet. In 2009, Miranda and Beverly established the MuttNation Foundation.
On its website, the group claims to have «raised over $9 million» to further its «mission to promote the adoption of shelter pets, advance spay and neuter; and educate the public about the benefits of these actions.»
The efforts of MuttNation are now being extended to the field of horse rescue by Miranda and Beverly. Through MuttNation, the two just introduced the yearly Idyllwind Grant, which is named after Miranda’s first horse. Lucky Break Rescue, a nonprofit organization run and controlled by women, received the foundation’s inaugural grant.
