Flavor Flav is contributing to the strength of Los Angeles.

The 65-year-old rapper declared on Monday, January 20, that he will be working with the Black Music Action Coalition and GoFundMe to «immediately help» Black families who were affected by the Eaton Fire in the Pasadena and Altadena neighborhoods of Los Angeles.

«In the wake of the L.A. fires, a great number of you have given and received assistance. However, there are a ton of other people who genuinely need your assistance,» he wrote as the caption for the Instagram photo. «Seeing so many individuals band together to support one another has been motivating, and I just want to draw attention to one.

The Public Enemy member went on to say, «Not enough is being done for the Black families and community in the aftermath of the California fires,» «I urge not only Black artists and musicians and creators, but EVERYONE to come together and continue to help those in still in desperate need.»

Its goal is to increase «the collective efforts to generate funds in support of Black families as they navigate displacement, loss of income, grief [and] essential needs in the short-term as they seek to rebuild.» To date, the GoFundMe has raised close to $40,000.
