Originally congratulated my mother on her wedding! This baby charmed all the guests
Walking down the aisle may be the most important moment for any bride, but it was an extraordinary event for Kristie Mihelich of Troy, Michigan.
Mihelich was preparing to marry Bobby Mihelich on April 22 at the Planterra Conservatory in West Bloomfield, Michigan, when their 2-year-old son, Pierson, unintentionally stole the show.
Pierson let out a loud shout and dashed toward his mother as soon as he saw her at the end of the aisle. Mihelich’s best friend and the couple’s photographer captured the endearing and adorable moment on camera.
«When they both saw me down the aisle, their jaws dropped, and he said,
‘Huh?’ ‘Hi mom!’ he exclaimed. «He shook both of his hands vigorously, and then he just bolted toward me,» Mihelich told «Good Morning America.»
«It was the most delightful thing. I expected him to stand there and wait for me, but instead he ran to his mother.»
Mihelich shared the video clip on Instagram last week and has been inundated with comments and messages since then.
«The more people who share it, the happier I am because we need happy things in our lives right now,» she explained.
Mihelich told «GMA» that she had no idea her son, whom she also calls Piercy, would react in such a way.
«We had always intended to have Pierson as the ring bearer because he is such an outgoing, charismatic, and natural little entertainer, and we thought this would be the perfect role for him.»
«It wasn’t really going that way the night before, at the rehearsal dinner,» Mihelich admitted. «He really just wanted to run around the place and be a two-year-old.»
«I was like, it’s probably not going to happen, but that’s fine because he’s here.» «It’ll happen organically the way it’s supposed to,» she added. «Well, gratefully, he did a wonderful job in his little showmanship way and surprised us all with the happiest reaction to me, seeing me dressed up.»
Pierson’s reaction, according to Mihelich, was more than she could have hoped for.
«It felt like a dream come true.» I mean, I couldn’t have imagined a more idyllic setting for a perfect day. «It was literally like a movie,» she said.
«He was overjoyed and couldn’t stop himself. He just ran down the aisle at me, and I have never felt a sweeter moment in my life. And I’ll never forget how I felt.»
Pierson kept the party going even after his parents married. «After dinner, and as I mentioned, he’s like a little performer.»
«He ate his dinner and went straight to the dance floor, and he didn’t leave the dance floor until midnight,» his mother laughed.
What comes next for Pierson now that he’s a viral sensation?
Mihelich stated that they are preparing to celebrate her son’s third birthday this weekend.
«He was born on Derby Day in 2019.» «This Saturday is Derby Day, so we’re going to celebrate,» the proud mother explained.
«His birthday is tomorrow, but we’re going to celebrate Derby Day by dressing up and inviting a large group of people.» We’re making fascinators and dresses and (will) celebrate his birthday.»
