Patrick Mahomes states that he has no desire to endorse a candidate following reports that Brittany liked a post about Donald Trump
The Chiefs quarterback stated that he would prefer encourage people to «do their own research» and «inform people to vote» using his platform.

According to Patrick Mahomes, he has no interest in disclosing his personal political views in public. During a Chiefs press conference, Patrick was questioned about his political beliefs after Donald Trump lauded his wife Brittany Mahomes on Wednesday,
Sept. 11 for supposedly supporting him while criticizing Taylor Swift for sponsoring his opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris. The 28-year-old quarterback told reporters, «I’ve always said, I don’t want my place or my platform to be used to endorse a candidate either way.»

«I believe my role is to advise people to register to vote, to conduct independent research, and to subsequently make the best choice possible.»
Patrick noted that one of the things that «makes America so great» is his ability to remain impartial, saying he’s «going to refer back to that» position «every time» he’s asked political questions. When asked if his and Brittany’s double date to the US Open with 34-year-old Swift and NFL player Travis Kelce was an attempt to demonstrate

«that people who have different philosophies» could spend time together, the three-time Super Bowl champion responded that he has always spent time with people regardless of politics.
«Dating back, if you’ve seen my history, I’ve grown up with people from every aspect of life, and every background,» Patrick remarked.
