Miley Cyrus is sharing some of the ideas that inspired her next album!
In a recent interview for Harper’s BAZAAR’s Art Issue, which was released on November 20, the 31-year-old singer-songwriter disclosed that she is now working on her ninth studio album. Cyrus hinted that the concept album, tentatively named Something Beautiful, will focus on healing and have incredibly surreal imagery.

The Grammy winner revealed to the magazine some of the artwork she used as inspiration for Something Beautiful over the course of the previous six or seven months, including a classic rock movie she saw for the first time as a teenager.
«It was inspired by Pink Floyd’s The Wall,» she remarked of the new album, remembering that she and a friend and one of her brothers had seen the surrealist movie for the first time in 1982.

Cyrus told Harper’s BAZAAR that the three «really leaned in» to the rockstar mood to watch, using a limo, marijuana, and fur jackets à la ’70s rockers. «Therefore, I am emotionally attached to it.»
As she noted, her inspiration for Something Beautiful «was making The Wall, but with a better wardrobe, more glamorous, and full of pop culture.» The 2018 horror film Mandy, which follows Nicolas Cage as he exacts revenge on his girlfriend, played by Andrea Riseborough, has also influenced the next record.
