Beyoncé did not receive a nomination for this year’s Country Music Association Awards, even though her album Cowboy Carter was one of the best country albums of the year.

Given that the record had the largest launch of the year for a country album and spent weeks on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart, the apparent snub sparked a lot of discussion.
Many well-known figures in country music voiced their opinions in response to the incident.
Luke Bryan, for example, acknowledged Cowboy Carter’s influence and explained that her arrival did not disturb anyone in the genre.
«A lot of great music is sometimes overlooked, and sometimes you don’t get nominated,» he said during an October 1 appearance on Andy Cohen Live on Sirius XM. «Everyone praised Beyoncé’s country album. No one is upset about it. «Everyone coming in and making country albums at all that,» he added. The mere fact that she made one does not guarantee that I will receive any nominations.
However, the 48-year-old went on to say that, in his opinion, the genre encompasses more than just the music produced.
