The «Bloody Valentine» singer revealed that he checked himself into rehab following his tour of last year during an episode of Bunnie Xo’s «Dumb Blonde» podcast.
Robotic Weapon Kelly is being open about his history with drinking and revealing that he checked himself into a rehab center earlier this year. In an interview on Monday, August 5, on Bunnie Xo’s podcast Dumb Blonde,
the 34-year-old «Emo Girl» musician talked candidly about his battles with alcoholism and mental health issues. He also said that he is «completely sober from everything.» «I’ve given up drinking. Since last August, I haven’t had a drink,» MGK, real name Colson Baker, declared. «That was my first time I ever went to rehab.»
According to MGK, he used to misuse alcohol, marijuana, and prescription medications like hydrocodone, Percocet, and Vyvanse. The performer expressed his gratitude for his 38-year-old partner Megan Fox later in the program, claiming that she played a crucial role in his recuperation.
«Megan has for sure been extremely helpful in dealing with the kind of psychological withdrawals that come with getting off drugs,» stated MGK. He clarified, saying, «I accept that this path will be difficult for me and I forgive myself.
In addition, I’m incredibly critical of myself and self-deprecating. I simply feel grateful that I can now begin to feel confident enough to show people who I am, as I kind of relied on my art to achieve that.»
