Selena Gomez commentary on rumors of a relationship between Ariana Grande and Ethan Slater
After the Wicked actress defended her relationship with co-star Ethan Slater, Selena Gomez expressed her support for Ariana Grande.

The Wicked actress recently spoke out against rumors about her and costar Ethan Slater’s affair, and the «Look at Her Now» singer offered nothing but praise for her.
Ariana defended her boyfriend’s character by telling Vanity Fair, «There couldn’t be a less accurate depiction of a human being than the one that the tabloids spread about him.» She also criticized «disreputable evil tabloids» for stoking rumors about how she and Ethan’s relationship actually started.
On December 4, Selena responded to an Instagram post that quoted Ariana by writing «AMEN» next to five clapping emojis.
Ethan, 32, and Ariana, 31, met on the set of Wicked and began dating in 2023. When they started dating, they were already divorced from their respective marriages, Lilly Jay (with whom Ethan has a 2-year-old boy) and Dalton Gomez, but the tabloids had a «field day,» as Ariana described it, to «create something that paid their bills.»
«Seeing so many people believe the worst version of it was the most disappointing part,» the Nickelodeon alumnus told Vanity Fair. «It was undoubtedly a difficult ride.»
As she reflected on the experience, Ariana stated she had «a lot of life changes» while filming Wicked.
