Serena Williams claimed that a five-star venue turned her and her children away even though it was entirely vacant
A five-star restaurant in Paris has retaliated against Serena Williams, who claimed that even though the establishment was deserted, she and her kids were turned away.
The Peninsula crew stated on X, «Unfortunately, our rooftop bar was indeed fully booked and the only empty tables you saw belonged to our gourmet restaurant, L’Oiseau Blanc, which was fully reserved.» The eatery continued, saying,
«We sincerely apologize for the disappointment you experienced tonight. It has always been an honor to greet you, and it will continue to be so when you return. Paris on the Peninsula. Fans of the tennis legend Serena Williams were quick to criticize the hotel for turning her down, with one user on X asking, «How does one get denied when they are Serena Williams…… lol.»
Another person remarked, «You’re better off not going; their food is subpar; I’ve had to pay for it quite a few times.» A fourth person said, «It’s Serena Williams—make a table for her!» It happened after the tennis icon posted a message expressing her frustration with the care,
saying, «Yikes, @peninsulaparis.» Nicer restaurants have denied me access to their rooftops to eat, but never with my kids. Always starting out first.
However, not every social media user jumped on board with the celebrity; some said her stance was «entitled» and «about privilege.»
