Shaun White is aware that a successful romance requires effort. The Olympic gold medallist considered what works for his relationship with longterm girlfriend Nina Dobrev two weeks after they became engaged.
On November 14, Shaun said on Instagram, «I’m ecstatic to be with this incredible woman and to be joining her lovely family.» «Our romance during quarantine blossomed into a lovely partnership that is now a lifelong one. This app primarily displays us at our best, so trust me when I say that.
«Behind the curtain, like any relationship, we’ve had our struggles,» he said. But what keeps us going forward as a team is our capacity for communication and healing. I want to give Nina the same amount of gratitude, adventure, love, and life lessons that she has taught me because I am so grateful for them.»
Along with the touching statement, the snowboarder posted a video of his romantic proposal to the Vampire Diaries alum at New York City’s The Golden Swan restaurant, which was decked up with sparkling candles and white flowers. He made sure to emphasize how their loved ones returned to the room to congratulate the newly engaged pair and show off how enamored they were with Nina’s stunning diamond.
