During his appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday, November 20, the actor, who earlier this year expressed his wish to migrate to the European nation, disclosed that he and his family will be spending Thanksgiving in Madrid.
Alejandra Silva, my wife, is Spanish. Does anyone else have an issue with this? The 75-year-old Gere quipped that he would still go back to the US.
The Pretty Woman star, who was also talking about his upcoming series The Agency, stated, «But my wife is Spanish and she gave me about seven years here, so we’re going to spend some years in Madrid with her family.»
«Our bilingual children will thrive there,» Gere continued.Gere, who also claimed that he is bilingual and can «speak 15 languages perfectly,» said, «There in Spain, yeah,» in response to host Jimmy Fallon’s question about whether he would be spending Thanksgiving in Madrid.
«My wife’s grandmother was sort of the glue that held everything together. She grew up in a large Spanish family, which is similar to a large Italian family,» he added.
