Six weeks after their divorce was finalized, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck formally announced their single status
Although Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck reached a divorce settlement on January 6, they were formally proclaimed single by a judge on Friday, February 21.

Officially, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are not dating.
According to court documents acquired by PEOPLE, the Los Angeles County Superior Court ruled that the couple’s marriage was dissolved and that they were legally single as of Friday, February 21, even though they had reached a divorce settlement back on January 6.

After first rekindling their romance in 2021, Affleck, 52, and Lopez, 55, were married in a small ceremony in Las Vegas in July 2022. Later, on August 20, 2022, they held a ceremony in Georgia to commemorate their marriage in front of friends and family.
Exactly two years after the Georgia wedding, Lopez filed for divorce, stating that irreconcilable differences were the cause of the break and claiming April 26, 2024, as the date of separation.

Her unrepresented filing in the Los Angeles County Superior Court stated that the «exact nature» of their community, quasi-community assets, and separate property and obligations are «unknown» and «will be determined.»
She also asked that the attorney’s fees be divided and that neither party receive any spousal support. Lopez further asked for the restoration of her previous name, Jennifer Lynn Lopez. According to documents acquired by PEOPLE on January 29, the ex-couple will split the proceeds from the sale of their property in Beverly Hills, California.
