Susan Lucci shares the two easy joys that give her self-assurance at 78

Because of these small joys, Susan Lucci is feeling confident.
The All MY Children star talked about what she now does to feel secure when PEOPLE interviewed her at the American Heart Association’s (AHA) Red Dress Collection Concert on January 30.
Wearing a glamorous sequin halter-neck gown, the Emmy-winning actress reveals, «A great dress and a little spa [day].»The AHA’s annual fashion show and concert featured performances by Suki Waterhouse and Sara Bareilles, as well as catwalk moments from Porsha Williams, Teyana Taylor, Abigail Spencer, and Busy Philipps. Lucci, 78, was one of the celebrities celebrating the event.
The ceremony was hosted by Sharon Stone at Jazz at Lincoln Center.

Having walked the runway and the carpet in previous years, the actress, who has had two cardiac stent implantation procedures, is a regular at the AHA event. In 2018, she was appointed an ambassador for the group.

When Lucci debuted a jewelry line in 2023 to benefit the American Heart Association, she told PEOPLE how her health problems inspired her to change her way of life and urged her to educate other women about heart health.
«I was so embarrassed of myself that I nearly decided not to talk about it. However, it serves as a reminder to exercise caution,» she stated.
