Before marrying Sweden’s Prince Carl Philip, Duke of Värmland, fourth in line to the Swedish throne, Princess Sofia was a glamor model and reality TV star.
Her maiden name was Sophia Christina Hellqvist. The girl grew up in the Swedish province and after the gymnasium went to conquer Stockholm.
There, she first worked as a waitress, then became a model, starred topless for a local men’s magazine, and after that she appeared in an erotic reality show. During her turbulent youth, Sofia also got several tattoos.
However, by the time she met the prince, Sofia was already leading a much more modest lifestyle: she opened a yoga center, was a volunteer and helped build an orphanage in Ghana.
But, having met with her future husband, Sophia was not at all going to get rid of the tattoos left as a keepsake from her former life. Moreover, the future princess made a particularly daring act — she flaunted her tattoo on her wedding day.
A sun tattoo peeked out from under her delicate lace dress. Sofia does not hide this tattoo even after she became part of the royal family. For example, Sofia also wore dresses with an open back at a gala reception in honor of the Nobel Prize.
A few years ago, while relaxing on the beach, Sofia also showed a large tattoo in the form of a flying butterfly on her ribs. She also has a small tattoo on her ankle and is said to have previously had a design on her arm.
