The child sells lemonade, what to have shoes, it touched the policeman
«We should educate our children about the world they live in.» Thomas Berry’s
We adore our children and would give them the world if we could.

However, as we grow older, we realize that even if we could, it is better to teach our children to be grateful than to try to get something for ourselves.
Life can be difficult, and we may find ourselves in situations where we cannot afford certain items or must prioritize our basic needs.
It is also beneficial for a child to understand the value of money and how to earn extra money for things they want or need during these difficult times.
Some of the most common ways for our children to earn a little extra cash are to sell used items, cookies, or lemonade.
They are not selling to make money. Instead, it’s all for our children to enjoy and learn from.

Simultaneously, they learn to value the money they’ve worked hard for and have the freedom to spend it on whatever they want.
Most of us had the opportunity to do this as children.
Do you recall how excited you were when you were setting up your «store» in your garden or assisting your mother in making lemonade? Do you recall how delighted you were when someone purchased your cold, refreshing lemonade?
Did you save the money you earned or did you spend it on a toy?
On September 3, 2022, Officer Joel Perez of the Ansonia Police Department did something sweet that went viral.

Wendelyn Narvaez posted on Facebook that her first-grade grandson set up a lemonade stand. He had cookies and brownies in addition to the drink that would quench your thirst.
A police officer came up to the little boy as he was selling his cool drink.
Landen, Narvaez’s grandson, was perplexed when the officer introduced himself.
He then inquired as to why the boy was selling lemonade.
Landen stated that he was saving money in order to purchase brand new blue sneakers for school.
Officer Perez asked the boy how big he was before leaving.

After a few hours, Landen was still selling lemonade. Then he recognized someone.
Officer Perez was returning to his lemonade stand, holding a box.
Landen was given a pair of blue store-bought sneakers by the kind cop.
Landen’s grandmother snapped the photo that went viral at that precise moment.
«Landen was surprised and couldn’t believe it,» Narvaez wrote on Facebook.

The kind police officer who bought Landen a new pair of shoes was a former military police officer. He was then hired by the Ansonia Police Department in March of last year.
«I am honored to work for such a wonderful community. Giving back is not only a blessing, but it also serves as a constant reminder of where I came from. Landen, I hope you enjoy your new sneakers and never forget what a wonderful young man you are. May God continue to bless you and protect you and your family!» Officer Perez stated as he shared their viral photo.
