The interiors of these houses are quite amazing! Look how cosy and lovely they are
The most popular Airbnb in the world is not a Manhattan loft or a Barcelona beachfront flat. According to the company, it’s a little «mushroom dome» in Aptos, California.

Since 2009, a year after Airbnb was created in San Francisco, guests have stayed in Kitty and Michael’s mushroom-shaped flat.
«Since then, it’s garnered nearly 1,300 reviews, and guests from all over the world have come to live in the tiny 10 square metres,» Airbnb said in a news statement showcasing the company’s initial story.

The flat is described as ‘an attic with a geodesic dome and a wide tree-lined terrace’ on ten acres of property in Aptos, a small town near Santa Cruz.
It accommodates three people (two on the mattress and one on the sofa bed) and features a self-contained composting toilet in the bathroom because, after all, this is a central California eco-friendly project.

Customers are told to expect a lot of noise here:
«The chirping of birds or crickets, the croaking of tree frogs, and the wind blowing through the trees make up the majority of the sounds here.» Because people live on the ground, don’t expect it to be absolutely silent.»

Airbnb’s popularity can be attributed to its provision of «a comfortable and clean semi-rustic lodge»: it provides accommodations that are eccentric, unique, and far from a garish hotel room or a luxury serviced apartment.
Aside from the mushroom-inspired dome, the business stated that Airbnb has 14,000 tiny homes, over 4,000 castles, and over 2,400 treehouses.
