The love realisation that took former supermodel Paulina Porizkova 58 years to understand
Love can be perplexing. Some people spend their entire lives attempting to figure it out and discover the proper bond for them. And it took former supermodel Paulina Porizkova 58 years to really comprehend one crucial aspect of love.

Porizkova, who describes herself as a «accidental former supermodel, occasional actress, and current writer,» published a long, heartfelt article on Oct. 3 about finding love with her significant partner, Jeff Greenstein.
In the video, she and Greenstein are seen cuddling in front of the camera, smiling wide, toothy smiles and almost giggling. According to Paulina Porizkova, here’s what you need to know about love.
«It took me 58 years to understand,» the former beauty queen wrote. «That what I wanted and needed was not Prince Charming charging into my life on a white steed to rescue me with his love, but an equal.»

«And for that, I first had to figure out what I needed,» she continued. What I couldn’t live without.»Porizkova, who began modelling at the age of 15 and was the first Central European woman to appear on the cover of Sports Illustrated when she was 18 years old,
wrote that she «learned» from her previous relationships, which helped her see those relationships as valuable and not «time wasted even if it felt like it at times.»

Prior to beginning a relationship with Greenstein in February 2023, Porizkova was married to Ric Ocasek, lead singer of the band The Cars, from 1989 until his death in 2019.
They had separated in 2018 and were in the process of divorcing when he died after surgery. She dated screenwriter Aaron Sorkin in 2021.

She went on to explain in her Oct. 3 article on love realisations that she needed to «figure out» who she was so that she could «know what an equivalent was» in terms of a mate. And her lessons can benefit many others, whether you’re single or in a relationship.
