A wildlife photographer has filmed playful dolphins leaping three meters out of the water.
The overjoyed sea creatures, which weigh about 500 kg, were seen leaping several feet into the air.
A pod of about 20 bottlenose dolphins was observed by wildlife photographer Andrew Cottrell when he was out for a stroll on the beach at Hunmanby Gap.

About a kilometer out from the Yorkshire beach’s shore, the cetaceans could be seen playing.
The dolphins, which jumped more than three meters out of the water, appeared to be «having fun,» according to Mr. Cottrell.
Dolphins may leap up to 25 feet into the air from the water and are incredibly acrobatic.

In October 2022, Mr. Cottrell announced his retirement to Filey, saying he did so because of «its beauty, the wildlife, and the people.»
Dolphins can frequently be seen off the shore, according to the enthusiastic photographer, but it is unusual to observe them during cold spells.
