The wedding was xelebrated at 90! Incredible love story
Nothing beats witnessing the union of two people who are truly in love. As a result, the staff at St. Croix Hospice in Iowa were privileged to witness Frankie King and her husband’s heartfelt reunion.
King married Royce on September 16, 1944. She didn’t have a gown for her wedding day at the time. As a result, the hospice staff arranged for her to wear a lovely antique white gown to her September 24, 2021 wedding ceremony.

During the heartwarming reenactment of the couple’s wedding, the hospice staff couldn’t stop gushing over the adorable couple.
Henry Michaelson, a photographer and member of the St. Croix Hospice staff, reflected on the occasion, saying it was difficult for him to hold back his tears as he observed the couple’s emotion.
Sue Bilodeau, the couple’s daughter, also came and assisted her mother with the preparations.

In a temporary chapel decorated with flowers, King’s then-98-year-old husband awaited his beloved wife in his Air Force uniform.
The incident occurred after the hospice staff inquired about the couple’s wedding photos.
Sue explained why her parents’ weddings were never extravagant.
«‘We got married on a two-day notice while Dad was just on a short leave… before he went overseas in World War II,» Mom said. And we didn’t have time to organize a large wedding…»

St. Croix Hospice assisted and cared for King and Royce at their Oelwein home. A few weeks before their wedding, the hospice staff decided to transform their garden into a 1940s-style setting.
The wedding event was enhanced by the couple’s music therapist, who performed saxophone and guitar renditions of 1940s hit songs.
Royce and King gazed adoringly into each other’s eyes as they kissed and cuddled in front of the floral archway.
Sue noticed that her father had the widest grin and that it wouldn’t stop when he met her mother. The Kings, who had two children, four grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren, relived the most special day of their lives in the presence of many well-wishers. Their reunion captivated online users as well, and many were eager to express their feelings in comments.
