Oprah Winfrey has received a lot of love over the years, but it was only a matter of time before the hate caught up with her.
But who would go after someone who is popular, well-known, and active in social justice? There is one person who has been criticising celebrities for years.
And it was actress Rose McGowan who chose to inform one of the century’s most renowned individuals about all of the criticism. McGowen’s popular tweet mentions Oprah’s collaboration with Harvey Weinstein, the now-incarcerated Hollywood producer.
Weinstein, according to McGowen, acted improperly towards her and utilised his authority to do so during her career.
And she would not allow any celebrity to be condemned for being aided by Weinstein’s activities. In summary, McGowen’s tweet appears to indicate that she is pleased that people are learning about Oprah’s prior actions.
According to McGowen, Oprah cannot even appear in a documentary that would benefit the Me Too Movement. McGowen advises her to abandon the idea. McGowen even compares Oprah to a lizard.
People were either predicting or agreeing about the surprising message, which sparked a lot of discussion. To say the least, it was a daring and unexpected action.
McGowen’s thoughts on Oprah haven’t been in the headlines in a long time. Oprah’s most recent post was more than a year ago, when she discussed stepping down as executive producer on Russel Simmons’ #MeToo documentary.
Oprah stated that she, the other women, and Simon all had different views about how to make the film, thus she could no longer participate. She sends her best wishes to the other women and Simon.
Someone who claims to support the «Me Too» movement should not behave in this manner. However,
Oprah can’t seem to escape her past or the individuals she’s encountered over the years. McGowen will not allow herself or the world to forget that Oprah was Weinstein’s best friend, coworker, and confidante.
The Butler, starring Oprah, was released in 2013. Weinstein and his business created it. He was accused of many things in 2017. But, to this day, Oprah maintains that she knows nothing about the allegations against Weinstein.
According to Oprah, many women have substantial claims that should be made public, and the majority of them do not include Weinstein.
Even though Oprah used to be friends with Weinstein, she believes that all attention should not be focused on him. She believes that there are many other people who should face punishment, and that if we only focus on Weinstein, the others will be forgotten.
Weinstein is currently serving a 23-year prison sentence for his crimes, which is a good thing.
