Adele will postpone new music for an undetermined period of time.
«I don’t have any plans for new music at all,» Adele, 36, told Germany’s ZDF in a July 14 interview. «I want a big break after this and I think I want to do other creative things,
just for a little while.»Despite her global fame and her current two-year Las Vegas residency, Adele has admitted that the spotlight disturbs her.
«I don’t like being famous,» she told the publication. «I love that I get to make music all the time.»
Adele has recorded four albums and is one of the most successful musical performers of the modern period. Her first album, 19, was released in 2008 and went double platinum in the United States. The next year, she won Best New Artist and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance at the Grammy Awards.
Adele won the most Grammy Awards by a female artist in one night in 2012, after releasing her 2011 album, 21, with six prizes. She followed it up with 25 in 2015 and 30 in 2021, totaling 16 Grammy Awards to date.
Adele admitted last year that she has «nothing to say yet» and «hadn’t even thought about» new music.
