These two became friends after a noble act of a young man.
A strange bond has developed between a grandmother and the adolescent who traveled great distances to retrieve a grandmother’s missing wallet after discovering it in a parking lot.
Grandmother of seven from Wynne, Arkansas, Dee Harkrider, 61. She misplaced her wallet on January 12 in the Forrest City Walmart parking lot and wasn’t alerted to the situation until she had traveled to Palestine and had spoken with her close friend Elaine Keown.

Keown inquired as to Harkrider’s acquaintance with Delivontae Johnson, a young man.
According to Harkrider, who spoke to The Epoch Times, «He had located my wallet and was trying to get in touch with me to return it.» «When he noticed my address on my driver’s license, he was already on his way to my residence. She was worried about that.
East Arkansas Community College student Johnson, 19, said: «After spotting the name on the license, I looked it up on Facebook… then informed Miss Dee that I had her wallet.
When he didn’t receive a response to his message right away, he browsed through her images, located Keown, and contacted her to inform her that the wallet was stolen.

Eleven days before, Johnson had hit a pothole while traveling to church in Memphis. En route to the mechanic, he had stopped in the Forrest City Walmart parking lot to use the ATM. It was at that moment that he discovered Harkrider’s stolen wallet in a shopping cart.
The teen remarked, «I didn’t know that my difficulty would become someone else’s blessing. «I just wanted to do good and personally deliver the wallet to the owner.»
Johnson made a detour and traveled more than 20 miles out of his way to find Harkrider after learning that she was in Palestine rather than her home in Wynne. On the way, he made a call to Harkrider, and they met in the parking lot of a CR Smalls and Company restaurant.
Harkrider recalled, «He stated he wanted to make sure I got my wallet back.» «It contained everything! I had a $20 bill hidden in my wallet because I was so appreciative of what he had done for me, and I presented it to him as a token of my gratitude. The wish I
The appreciative grandmother and Johnson grabbed a selfie and posted their encounter on Facebook. The post became popular.

I wanted him to be recognized for what he had done, as well as to spread the goodness of God, she said, according to The Epoch Times. I firmly think that people are placed in our lives by God, and Delivontae into my life specifically for good reasons. He demonstrated integrity, honesty, and compassion toward another person at the young age of 19.»
The student and the grandmother have been in touch via Facebook since they first met and occasionally message one another. Johnson’s honesty has earned Harkrider’s gratitude, as has his mother Rachel’s selfless parenting of her four children while maintaining a strong moral compass.
Rachel and she are friends on Facebook, and she hopes to meet her soon.

«I think the main lesson I’ve taken from this is that I, like many other people, am suspicious about our young people because we hear so much about the terrible,» said Harkrider. Delivontae has helped me regain my faith. His deeds show how people may be used by God, and we as God’s people must take action to aid and uplift our young people.
Meeting Harkrider moved the teen in a similar way.
He said, «There are two things I acquired from this scenario: respect and a terrific friend, Miss Dee!» «One thing I learnt about this situation is that if you do good, good things will follow you,» he remarked.
