They don’t get it, says Kristin Chenoweth in defense of Wicked against the boycott by a conservative group
«We refer to it as entertainment. Chenoweth, who portrayed Glinda in the first Broadway run of «Wicked,» wrote, «Artisanry.»

«For Good,» Kristen Chenoweth is putting an end to Wicked haters. When the conservative group One Million Moms said that the new film forced a homosexual agenda on viewers,
the actress, who played Glinda in the original Broadway production of Wicked and made a cameo in the film adaption, responded. Signers to the group’s petition are urged not to fund the film and its follow-up.

As stated in the petition, «the musical obviously contains a great deal of witchcraft and sorcery, and that content prompts most parents to avoid taking their children to see Wicked.» «However, the movie also depicts men having feelings for other men and not-so-discrete crossdressing, which parents might not anticipate.»
The petition stated, «Talents and resources were used to create a dark movie that also pushes wokeness, instead of an uplifting Broadway musical about friendship and family.»

Chenoweth shared a reaction to Out Magazine’s Instagram post regarding the petition.»The ‘one million Moms’ are actually only a few hundred, as everyone knows. «Perhaps,» she responded in the comment section of the post. «We refer to it as entertainment. artistic ability.»
As the creator of Glinda in Wicked and a Christian lady, Chenoweth condemned «all the silliness that these women spew out of hate.»
«No, no, no. I try to love them no matter what,» Chenoweth wrote. «For they don’t get it.»
