This baby was saved. He lost his parents

The kid was found safe with relatives after his parents were discovered dead outside of their Ohio home this week. A relative saw the body and then went through a window of the house to retrieve the child who had been inside alone without heat for up to 48 hours, according to authorities.

According to CBS station WKBN, who cited the Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office, the bodies of Amber Barry, 35, and her partner Eddie Parthemer, 55, were found on the porch of their home in Mecca Township on Tuesday afternoon.

According to excerpts of a 911 conversation released by the outlet, Barry’s sister went to check on the pair after she couldn’t reach them and discovered them «slumped over» and «unresponsive» on the porch.

Moreover, the caller added, «I’m positive they’re dead.»

Maj. Tony Villanueva of the Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office told WKBN that evidence from the residence at this time points to a potential overdose.

When PEOPLE asked the sheriff’s office for comment, they did not get back to them right away.

Authorities think the couple’s 3-year-old kid may have been left alone for as long as 48 hours, according to NBC affiliate WFMJ.

Villanueva revealed to the publication that Barry’s sister entered the house through a window and saved the youngster. The official claimed that there was no heat and that the house was in «deplorable circumstances.»

According to WFMJ, the boy was then given to family members.
