This old man traded his house for a liner! That’s why
Morton Jablin decided to quit from his career in 2007.
His family unexpectedly purchased a ticket for him on a cruise ship, believing he would return in a few months at most. Morton, however, never returned, and has been living aboard the ship for the past 13 years, much to everyone’s astonishment.

Morton had dedicated himself entirely to his career throughout his life, which proved financially profitable even after his retirement. Morton, though, found himself craving new adventures and experiences as his children grew older and living in his vast home became increasingly dull.
The cruise ship on which he set off gave him with everything he could possible require. The ship had a wealth of services and entertainment options, ranging from movie theatres and casinos to cafes, swimming pools, libraries, and gyms.

To his astonishment, Morton learned that travelling on the ship was really less expensive than staying in a regular nursing facility.
With this realisation, he liquidated his business, deposited the cash, and used the interest to pay his ongoing vacations.
He had no wish to disembark, and the ship’s staff grew accustomed to this one-of-a-kind and content traveller. It proved to be one of the best decisions he’d ever made.

«Why stay in one place when you can see the whole world?» Morton told media, expressing the spirit of his newfound way of life. His family eventually accepted his decision, realising that he would be happier aboard the ship.
They pay him visits in various ports where they can experience completely fresh surroundings together. Morton’s experience exemplifies the flexibility to pursue one’s passions and to take unexpected pathways in life.
His decision to live permanently on a cruise ship has provided him with great joy and the ability to travel the world.
