The 62-year-old Hollywood icon was overcome with joy as his nation won the medal in the sport for the first time since 2012. As the team scored their first goal, Tom joyously threw up his strong arms and cheered from the stands, being the epitome of the perfect cheerleader.
The Mission: Impossible actor looked dapper for the visit to Parc des Princes, wearing fitted grey pants and a white polo shirt. He finished off his Olympic ensemble with a pair of black aviator sunglasses, the same style he frequently wears in.
The actor alternated between sitting and standing as the heated scenes developed during the crucial game. Tom leaned forward to have a better look at the action at one point, holding onto the metal bar in front of him.
The Hollywood actor was the first to get up and cheer as the USA team scored and the stadium went wild. Despite the growing crowd around him, he continued to stop and greet fans, take pictures, and sign autographs, giving the impression that he was having a great time at the event.
Mallory Swanson’s goal in the 57th minute of the high-profile football match saw the United States upset a formidable Brazilian team 1-0. The winning goal for the gold medal was assisted by Korbin Albert.
