The 60-year-old Friends actor talked on what it was like to send her 20-year-old daughter Coco Arquette off to college for the first time during her remarks at the Inc. 5000 45th Annual Conference & Gala on Thursday, October 17. Remarkably, the actress initially found the shift to be very easy.
People get upset the first year your child starts school, and I thought, ‘What’s the big deal?’ It’s strange. «She’s always in her room and doesn’t talk to me anyway,» Cox jokes.
«Then she comes home after her first year in college and she was all mature and talking more,» Cox goes on. «She is amazing, I must say. She is a truly unique, intelligent, and humorous child.
Cox acknowledges that after spending more time with Coco, «the second year was harder for me.» «But then I was like, I don’t want you to go back to college,» he says.
The proud single mother and her ex-husband David Arquette have a daughter together.
In June, Coco was 20 years old, and Cox commemorated the occasion with a sweet Instagram carousel. A recent selfie of the mother-daughter pair at the beach opened the post, which then featured a collection of adorable and goofy old photos of Coco taken throughout the years.
