While volunteering at an animal shelter, a teen discovers her long-lost childhood cat
Hannah Rountree’s pet cat, Spunky, died when she was 12 years old. Hannah and her family were on vacation when the gorgeous black and white house cat got away. Spunky was nowhere to be found, despite their best efforts to find him.
Naturally, Hannah was devastated, but Spunky’s death fueled her love of animals. Hannah wanted to assist at her local animal shelter when she grew older. Hannah, now 15, had no idea what was in store for her when she arrived for her second shift at Saving Grace Pet Adoption Centre!
Hannah was captivated to one particular black and white cat at the shelter. The cat had recently been surrendered and was being housed at the Of course, many cats have similar appearances, but this one stood out. «I was thinking, is that my cat?» «It looks exactly like Spunky,» Hannah added.
The shelter officials were able to discover that the animal was really Hannah’s beloved childhood cat, Spunky, after some inquiry. Hannah was overjoyed to see her best friend after three years and couldn’t believe fate had brought them back together.
Spunky had come to the shelter as a stray and had been nicknamed Bear. He was immediately adopted, but the match didn’t last, and he wound up back at the shelter — just in time for Hannah to find him!
Wendy Kang, director of Shelte, stated, «It’s just perfect that she was able to find her pet while helping us.» Hannah and her family greeted Spunky’s return with open arms. «He’s really relaxed…»I knew he’d just perk up and remember,» Hannah explained. «I believe it was just fate.»
