The woman who holds the world record for the most body modifications is getting mixed reactions from the public.
46-year-old Maria Jose Cristerna from Mexico, known as a female vampire, admitted that she regularly faces negativity. Yes, the blogger is far from beauty standards.
Her body is covered with solid tattoos and 49 different modifications, including fangs, as well as a number of transdermal implants on her forehead, chest and arms.
It doesn’t end there. She also has multiple piercings in her eyebrows, nose, tongue, earlobes, navel, and nipples, as well as a forked tongue and titanium horns on her head. Maria did all this without anesthesia.
The vampire woman explains all body modifications as symbols of courage and strength after suffering domestic violence during her first marriage.
My horns are a symbol of strength. I got fangs because I loved vampires as a kid and I changed the color of my eyes to be the way I really wanted them to be,” Freak explained in an interview with the Daily Star.
But for all her outrageous appearance, Maria sees a completely normal life — she works as a lawyer and director of the tattoo stage, raises four children.
